All are welcome! “COVID-19: What We Learned – Staffing/People Resource” Emergency management requires precise identification and allocation of staff to align capabilities and capacity with the need to effectively deliver care for the community. The COVID-19 outbreak caused a substantial shift in the availability of staff and resources, and the accessibility of timely delivery of care. In response to the evolving needs, organizations have shifted staff in a variety of ways to ensure they were able to effectively screen, triage and care for patients. This webinar will provide strategies and tactics of how organizations adjusted their staffing structure to ensure that the most appropriate level of care is delivered during a medical surge such as the COVID-19. Speaker: Maureen A. Schneider, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, CPHQ, FACHE Dr. Schneider is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at Chilton Medical Center, Atlantic Health System. She has worked in New York and New Jersey and has held several executive management positions including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nurse Executive. Her leadership and clinical career began at New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing, an MBA from Monmouth University, and a doctorate in Philosophy from Seton Hall University, she is certified in Advanced Nursing Administration, Quality Healthcare, is a Fellow in the College of Healthcare Executives, and a Johnson and Johnson Executive Wharton Fellow, Master TeamStepps safety leader and earned a Black Belt/Lean/Six Sigma certificate from Villanova University. Dr. Schneider holds leadership positions on several Boards: Chair of Springpoint Life, Board of Directors for NJ Nurse Organization of Leaders, Board of Directors for NJH Business Solutions, Past President of Executive Women of New Jersey, past chair of the Strategic Planning Committee of NJ-American College of Healthcare Executives, past vice chair for the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills and past chair for NJ Nurse Executive Constituency group. She is adjunct faculty at Seton Hall University for doctoral and graduate students in business and leadership. Posted in Education and Events ACHE NJ Chapter Mentorship Program Posted on June 9, 2020 ACHE NJ Chapter is launching a Mentorship Program from September 2020 – June 2021 for NJ healthcare leaders who are currently employed in healthcare management positions. The goal of the Mentorship Program is to assist members in developing careers in the competitive world of healthcare administration, networking with other healthcare professionals, expanding knowledge of healthcare issues, and promoting the value of participation in The American College of Healthcare Executives. Qualifications: The program is free of charge and open to regular members and administered by volunteer members. Due to the limited availability of volunteer mentors, the program is not open to student members at this time. For the first year of the program, eligible mentees include early careerists who are employed in healthcare administration and in the early stages of their healthcare career (typically under 5 years of professional experience) and interested in professional development. Eligible mentors include mid-careerist and senior executives who are healthcare managers, directors, or administrators with at least 2 to 5 years of experience and are interested in sharing their experiences and knowledge to assist with the development of early careerists. Rakel is currently an MHA Graduate Student at Rutgers University. At this time, Rakel is employed by New York Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital as an administrative resident in the quality management department. In her first year of graduate school, she competed in the Healthcare Planning & Marketing Society of New Jersey Case Study Competition, where she and her teammates developed interventions addressing a hospital’s community health needs assessment (CHNA) and social determinants of health (SDOH). As representatives of Rutgers, they received first place. At the Bloustein School, Rakel received her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and currently serves as the Vice President of Rutgers Graduate Society of Healthcare Leaders.
